Carol’s Celebration of Life

I am in the beautiful city of Winnipeg, Manitoba today with my family. We are here for Carol’s Celebration of Life. It’s hard to believe it’s been five months since Carol passed.

Today will be about remembering Carol. She was a special woman and we have some special things planned to celebrate her life. It will be great to see family and friends whom I haven’t seen for a long time. It will be a day of mixed emotions. There will be happiness and sadness. We will share stories and memories of Carol. There will be a lot of these, I’m sure. There will also be music and we will listen to some of Carol’s favorite songs.

Earlier, I mentioned I would post a link to a tribute video I made for Carol. It will be played this afternoon when we gather for Carol’s Celebration of Life. The video is posted on YouTube. To view it, click here or on the photo below. The video is 25 minutes. For those who watched the video earlier, I have added more content. The video will be played in three segments today but I have combined them into one video here. Be sure to click the HD button to watch in high definition.

Thank you to everyone who called or visited me at the shop, or sent cards and letters of condolences. I will miss Carol and I know many of you will, too.

Just passing through Crows Nest Pass and thought of you and Carol. Was sad to see that Carol had passed away. You created a beautiful tribute to Carol. I had worked with Carol at MTS in Winnipeg. Many years ago we were passing through the Crows Nest and Carol welcomed myself and my husband Greg with open arms though we hadn’t spoken in many years. She was a great lady. My condolences to you and her family. I am sure she would say she lived best 30 years together with you.

      Hi Verna,

Thanks for your kind words. I think I remember your visit. That was Carol, all right. Always welcoming people that stopped by to visit. I lived the best 30 years of my life with her.

What an heartfelt and beautiful tribute to your wife. We’ve never met and I’ve only ever followed you and read your blog to get to know the Crowsnest Pass better, and because my friends, the Costa’s recommended I read it as they said I’d enjoy your writing. They were correct. I feel as though I’ve known you and Carol for a while from your writings though. I’m so terribly sorry you’ve lost her. I could only hope for as poignant and sweet a tribute to a happy, well-lived, life as what you’ve given her here. Take care.

Thinking of you today Vic. It will be an emotional day and I’m sure you will be exhausted by the end of the day. Enjoy catching up with your family and friends.
I will watch the video again later tonight.
